CROSS Festival since 2012 merges promotion, training and production of projects linked to contemporary performative languages. From the previous experience of Villaggio d’Artista festival and CROSS Award, which at present counts more than 800 applications from more than 30 countries all over the world, the Festival is a keypoint for performing practices in the territory and beyond: CROSS Festival contributes to the international debate, which today must be considered as fundamental assumptions of research, curiosity towards linguistic experimentation and a responsibility towards the social context in which it’s born.

CROSS Festival sees as a necessity that within society the artist takes a role of responsibility and this allows us, through his/her visions, to understand the world in which we live. We are interested in crossing not only different expressions, but also fields of knowledge, art, politics, social commitment, body, to investigate today’s most visionary expressions.

Central space of the CROSS Festival is Il Maggiore – the new theatre of the town of Verbania – born with the aim of being the beating heart of the territory’s activities.
