The Simone Basile Quintet is the brainchild of Simone Basile, a guitarist born in Taranto on 9/08/1990 and currently living in Florence. He began studying classical guitar as a child, but developed a passion for electric guitar under the influence of Maestro Salvatore Russo, who also passed on to him a passion for blues and jazz; he graduated in 2017 from the Conservatory of Florence in jazz guitar. He has attended numerous workshops with international artists and his first EP, released by Joe Black Production, dates back to 2016. The following year, he was noted among the talents of Italian jazz. Over the years he has taken part in various jazz festivals and exhibitions with his trio and quartet formations. September 2022 saw the release of his latest work, Morning Raga, composed for quintet.
