A CROSS Residence “artists in the territories” project
CROSS Award is addressed to artists and companies in the field of performance and music, with a particular attention to the production of innovative formats, focused on the close relationship between artistic creation and environment, intended as landscape, territory or community.
CROSS Award aims to stimulate the investigation and artistic expression related to the union of different styles and genres, evaluating as rewarding factors multi-language practices and the mixture of techniques and codes related to different performing arts.
Artistic creation is understood as a mode of research and intervention on reality. Through their relational and permeable quality, the performing arts represent the place where we can once again weave confidence in the social and community dimension of our experience of the world. The aim of the competition is to identify new, unprecedented productions – which bring the languages of the body and stage action into dialogue with musical composition, without restrictions and constraints of genre, category or practice.
