Villaggio d’Artista is a community residence for artists: an utopian space for social and natural coexistence, where artists, performers, dancers and citizens meet. It takes place entirely in MEINA (NO), on the Lake Maggiore, in many town spaces, urban and rural areas.
The project is curated by Antonella Cirigliano for the LIS Lab Performing Arts.
The program is divided into several sections: a window is dedicated to training and workshops (8-26 July 2013), conducted by internationally renowned artists who are practicing different disciplines and themes.
Artists and citizenship in a single project that is useful to shape new audiences and discover the mysterious and magnificent places that the landscape reserves and that becomes the stage of cultural expression.
On 25-26 and 27 July the Artist’s Village/ il Villaggio d’Artista will open. Sculptures, installations, performances, dances and projects by artists in residence will be open to the public (children, youth and adults) from 5 pm to 10 pm, while a series of special events will take place over the course of the three evenings.
